Aeschylus (Aiskylos, ca 525 bc - 456 bc, Greece)
The play Agamemnon (fp 458 bc, part 1 of Orestiae) in Swedish translation (p1929) by Emil Zilliacus (1878-1961), was given music for theatre in 1928. There's also a revised version (see 1928).
The play Gravoffret (Libation Bearers, Choephoroe, fp 458 bc, part 2 of Oresteia) in Swedish translation (1929) probably by Emil Zilliacus (1878-1961) was given music for radio theatre in 1930.
The play The Persians (fp 472 bc) in Swedish translation (1934) by Emil Zilliacus (1878-1961) was given radio theatre music 1937. He also arranged it as an oratorio in 1938 (see 1937).

Sven Alfons' (1918-1996, Sweden) cycle of poems Dagdrivaren from the collection of poems Ängelens bild (1961) contributes to Dagdrivaren (The Shepherd of Days or The Sluggard) from 1962.

Aristophanes (Aristofanes, ca 450bc - 385bc, Greece)
The play The Clouds (Molnen), in Swedish translation possibly by Alarik Hallström (1883) got music for radio theatre in 1927.
The comedy Lysistratus (Lysistrate), translated to Swedish (1932) by Ivar Harrie (1899-1973) & Hjalmar Gullberg (1898-1961) got music for theatre in 1934.
The play The Birds (Fåglarna) translated to Swedish (1928) by Ivar Harrie and Hjalmar Gullberg got music for radio theatre in 1936.

Per Daniel Amadeus Atterbom (1790-1855, Sweden)
The fairytale play Lycksalighetens ö (1824-7, The isle of felicity, Die Insel der Glückseligkeit) got theatre music in 1930 and in 1943 HR wrote an opera based on it. Libretto p1944 in the series "Operarepertoar" no 109 according to Libris. There also seems to be a German translation of the libretto in the orchestral score at the Swedish MIC.
The poem Erotikon supplies Zephyr's last song in the opera Lycksalighetens ö from 1943.

Jacinto Benavente's (1866-1954, Spain) play The Created Interests (The Marionettes, p1907), translated to Swedish by Karl August Hagberg (p1922) was given theatre music in 1926. In 1938 HR wrote The Marionettes, opera buffa in 3 acts, based on the same play and premiered 1939.

Bo Bergman's (1869-1967, Sweden) poem Hjärtat skall gro av drömmar from the collection of poems En människa (1908) was set for voice & piano in 1919.

Hjalmar Bergman (1883-1931, Sweden)
The play Porten (1923, The Door) got music for theatre in 1927.
The novel Hans nåds testamente (1910, His Grace's will) was given radio theatre music in 1929.
The novel Markurells i Wadköping (1919, The Family Markurell in Wadköping) was given radio theatre music 1930.
Spelet om flickan och frestaren eller Moralitet (yet unlocated, Morality or The play of the girl and the tempter) was given music for radio theatre in 1930.

The Book of Psalms (Psaltaren) 39: 6-8, 13, 14 (Libris claim for 38: 6-8, 13, 14 seems false) contibutes to Se, såsom en handsbredd, from 5 motets (1949).

Isaiah (Jesaja) 52:7, 61:11 and 62:11, 10,.9, 60:1 contributes to Symphony No 5, Hortulanus (The keeper of the garden), k1944.
Isaiah (Jesaja) 12:2-3 contributes to Se Gud är min frälsning, from 5 motets from 1949. 30:15 contributes to Om I vänden om och ären stilla, from 5 motets (1949).
Saint John (Johannes) 4:35, 36, 15:1, 5, 17 contributes to Symphony No 5, Hortulanus (The keeper of the garden), k1944.
Saint John's Revelation (Johannes uppenbarelse) contributes to the fourth symphony, The Revelation of Saint John, k1940, r1948-9. HR:s selection (cirka 9 % of the text) is less apocalyptic than Franz Schmidt's Das Buch mit Sieben Siegeln (1935-7), according to Björn Martinson's dissertation.
St Luke (Lukas) 8:1 contributes to Symphony No 5, Hortulanus (The keeper of the garden), k1944.
St Luke (Lukas) 1:46... possibly is set as Marie's song of praise (lovsång, Min själ prisar) from 1943.
Marcus 4:26, 27, 29 contributes to Symphony No 5, Hortulanus (The keeper of the garden), k1944.
Matthew (Matteus) 6:28, 29, 26 and 5:1-9 contributes to Symphony No 5, Hortulanus (The keeper of the garden), k1944.
The Gospels (Evangelierna) provide text for Den heliga natten, juloratorium, k1936 (The Holy Night, christmas oratorio).
The Bible also contributes to HR's oratorio "Huvudskalleplats" from 1938 and 1964-5 (see 1938).

Erik Blomberg (1894-1965, Sweden)
The poems Februarivår (Våta löv), Fjärilvisa (Sätt dig här) and Snöblommor (I dag är luften blå) from the collection Visor (1924) were set to music as 3 Songs opus 33 in 1926.
14 of his translations from the collection Jadeberget, kinesisk lyrik från Tangdynastin 618-906 (p1944), was set 1945-51 as 14 Chinese poems/songs. According to the booklet to BIS CD-38 Blomberg's translation was based on Wittner Bynner's English translation.

Svend Borberg's (1888-1947, Denmark) play Circus Juris eller De siamesiske Tvillinger: Et Tankespil (1935) was given theatre music in 1935.

Bertolt Brecht's (1898-1956, Germany) play Das Verhör des Lucullus (1939, Lucullus förhör), translated to Swedish by Herbert Grevenius (1964, with the title Förhöret med Lukullus) planned as radio theatre cirka 1940, but never realised.

Ella Byström's (later Byström-Baeckström, ?-?, Sweden) novel Kvinnan i Hyllos hus (1936) was given radio theatre music in 1940. HR also drew 3 Songs of Glauke (2 versions) and possibly the Greek excursions (1940) from it.

Pedro Calderon (1600-81, Spain)
The play Livet är en dröm (1636, La vida es sueno, Life is a dream) translated to Swedish by Theodor Hagberg (1886) was given theatre music in 1927.
The play Hus med dubbel ingång (House with two doors, 1635) in Swedish translation (1934) by Hjalmar Bergman & Ivar Harrie was given theatre music in 1934, 1935 & 1950 (see 1934 for all 3). In 1969 he also used it for an opera.
The Phantom Lady (Spökdamen, 1630) in Swedish translation by Hjalmar Gullberg, got theatre music in 1936.

Chang Chin-ling's poem Fullmånen in translation by Erik Blomberg (1894-1965, Sweden) from the collection Jadeberget, kinesisk lyrik från Tangdynastin 618-906 (p1944), was set in 1950 as no 7 from 14 Chinese poems/songs.

Chu Ch'ing-yû's poem Sång från palatset (Porten har sakta) in translation by Erik Blomberg (1894-1965, Sweden) from the collection Jadeberget, kinesisk lyrik från Tangdynastin 618-906 (p1944), was set in 1948 as no 13 from 14 Chinese poems/songs.

Ferdinand/Fernand Crommelynck's (1886-1970, Belgium) play Han som ville bli bedragen (original title ?, in Swedish translation by ?) got theatre music in 1936. Until I get to know the original title, I translate it as He who wanted to be deceived.

Johannes Edfelt (1904-97, Sweden)
The cycle of poems "Järnålder" (p1937, Iron Age) was set to music in HR's cantata (2 versions) from 1937 with the same title.
Hymner i skymningen, Smärtan är en skulptör, Arkaisk bild and Ungdom from the collection of poems Elden och klyftan (1943) was set to music 1959 in Vier Lieder. The FST-edition also with German translation by Erich Furreg [no 1] and Nelly Sachs [nos 2-4].
Döende sommar and Syrinx from the collection of poems Elden och klyftan (1943) was set 1960 in 2 Edfelt Songs (Lieder).
The cantata Åt jordgudinnan from 1960 has Edfelt poems and fragments chosen by Edfelt; 1. Den gyllne snigeln lyfter sina horn (from Bråddjupt eko, a cycle of poems in the collection Bråddjupt eko [1947]), 2. Strängare klanger ville jag höra (yet unlocated), 3. Februari vind (a prose poem from the collection Hemliga slagfält [1952]), 4. O ungdom, du som besöker mig (probably from the poem Ungdomstid in the collection Bråddjupt eko [1947]), 5. Du sitter där, min vän (possibly from the poem Tankar vid aftonlampan from the cycle of poems Strandmelodi from the collection Bråddjupt eko [1947]).
Edfelt also contributes with linking poems or text (yet unlocated) to the concert version of Lycksalighetens ö (The Isle of Bliss), k1943, r1961 (see 1943!).

Vilhelm Ekelund (1880-1949, Sweden)
The poems Påsk, När skogen sprang ut and Förbi from the collection Melodier i skymning (1902) as well as Lördagskvällen and Från barndomen from the collection Syner (1901) was set to music in Pastoral kvartett from 1924.
In candidum, the cycle of poems from 1905 contributes (with excerpts I suppose) to Rosenberg's work from 1974 with the same title.

Gunnar Ekelöf's (1907-68, Sweden) poem Ensam i tysta natten from the collection Vägvisare till underjorden (1967) was set for tenor and string quintet in 1976.

Euripides (480bc - 407bc, Greece)
The play Hippolytos, translated to Swedish by Hjalmar Gullberg (1898-1961, p1933) was given music for radio theatre in 1927. There's also music for radio theatre for Hippolytos from 1950.
The play Medea, translated to Swedish by Hjalmar Gullberg (1898-1961), p1931 was given music for radio theatre in 1931. In 1934 he revised it for the theatre. There's also 2 separate pieces from this music. All to be found at 1931.
The play Alkestis (Alcestis) translated to Swedish by Hjalmar Gullberg (1898-1961, p1933) was given music for radio theatre in 1933.

Axel Fredenholm's (1881-1962, Sweden) poems Hopisång (Vi bo där fäderna bodde); Dagen och natten (Dagen har tre mantlar) and Gryningens flicka, from Hopisång, a collection of poems p1955 was set to music by HR as Indianlyrik från Nordamerika, 1969.

Gustaf Fröding's (1860-1911, Sweden) poems Den svenske Celadons klagovisa över de svarte Morhianer i Afrika (from the second edition of Gitarr och dragharmonika, p1893) and Herr Lager och skön Fager (no 1 of Tre Gammaldags Visor in the second edition of Gitarr och dragharmonika, p1893) were set for female choir by HR in 1931.

Federico Garcia Lorca (1898-1936, Spain)
The play Blood Wedding (Blodsbröllop, 1933) in Swedish translation by Karin Alin & Hjalmar Gullberg, p1947 got music for theatre in 1944. In 1953 it was revised for the radio theatre (see 1944).
The play Yerma (1934) by Federico Garcia Lorca (1898-1936, Spain) in Swedish translation by Karin Alin & Hjalmar Gullberg, p1947 got music for theatre in 1948.

Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (1749-1832, Tyskland)
The play Iphigenia in Tauris (1787) translated to Swedish by ?, was given music for radio theatre in 1940. It's also arranged for hammond organ, (by?, when?, how much of it?).
The play Egmont (1788) translated to Swedish possibly by Berhard Risberg, 1889 got music for theatre in 1949.

Nikolaj Gogol's (1809-52, Russia) short story Portrait (ca 1836-42) in a version by Bertil Malmberg (1889-1958, Sweden) as the play Porträttet (p1956 in "Svenska radiopjäser 1956") contributes to Rosenberg's opera from 1955 (four versions).

Hjalmar Gullberg (1898-1961, Sweden)
Parts of the collection of poems "Andliga övningar" (1932), provide text for Den heliga natten, juloratorium, k1936 (The Holy Night, christmas oratorio), except the text to its Prologue, which comes from Gullberg's "Ett barn är fött idag!" from the collection "Sonat" (1929).
The poem "Huvudskalleplats" from the collection of poems "Att övervinna världen" (1937) contributes to HR:s oratorio from 1938 and 1964-5 (see 1938) with the same title.
Maria's lullaby (vaggvisa, En stjärna som ej dalar) from the "chapter" Mannens åldrar in the collection of poems Att övervinna världen (1937) was set for voice and piano in 1939.
Berceuse funèbre eller Vaggsång för en döfödd [sic] prins (Ej finns ett hav så bottenlöst), the first "chapter" of Mannens åldrar in the collection of poems Att övervinna världen (1937) was set for voice & piano at an unknown date (see the undated worklist).
The cycle of poems "Uppenbarelseboken i skyddsrummet" ("Livets bok" excluded and "Jag känner dig i nöden" added) from the collection "Fem kornbröd och två fiskar", 1942 contributes to the chorals of the fourth symphony, The Revelation of St. John, k1940, r1948-9.
The cycle of poems "Hymn till ett evakuerat Nationalmuseum" from "Fem kornbröd och två fiskar" (collection of poems, 1942) was set to music in HR's cantata Hymn till ett evakuerat Nationalmuseum from 1942.
Parts of Gullberg's cycle of poems "Om änglarnas liv" from the collection "Fem kornbröd och två fiskar" (1942) and Swedish psalm number 11 (Lover Gud i himmelshöjd) was used in the cantata Hymnus, from 1965.
The poem "Ungdomsstaden" (yet unlocated) and unidentified texts by Gullberg and a paraphrase of Esaias Tegnér (1782-1846, Sweden) is used in Hymn till ett universitet, a cantata from 1968.

Friedrich Hebbel's (1813-63, Germany/Denmark/Austria) poems Die Weihe der Nacht (Nächtliche Stille) and Memento vivere (Ich ritt einmahl) were set to music by HR in his 2 Songs opus 8 from 1920.

Verner von Heidenstam (1859-1940, Sweden)
3 poems from the collection Nya dikter (1915) contributes to 3 Songs opus 7 from 1917-8; Jutta kommer till folkungarna (Det red en jungfru), Månljuset (Jag vet ej varför), Stormar (Jag trodde du sov).
The poem Djufars visa from the collection Vallfart och vandringsår (1888) contributes to HR's melodrama from 1942.

Heinrich Heine's (1797-1856, Germany) poem New Spring (Ny vår [Sakta i min håg], 1830) in Swedish translation possibly by Gösta Gideon Molin (1917) was set for voice & piano 1918.

Alf Henrikson (1905-95, Sweden) wrote the libretto for the opera Resa till Amerika (Journey to America, 1932) and got it published by Bonniers 1932 in Opera repertoire nr 108 (88 pages). Henrikson also contributed to Betongen och skogen (1930) and Wadköping runt (1952), though these texts weren't published (?)

Hugo von Hofmannsthal's (1874-1929, Austria) play Der Tor und der Tod (1913) translated by unknown to Swedish (not in Libris 2001, Dåren och döden) was given radio theatre music in 1929. He also arranged two Variations for violin & orchestra from the music.

Ragnar Josephson (1891-1966, Sweden)
3 poems were set to music 1923 in 3 Songs, but soon withdrawn. They can't be located until their titles are known.
4 poems were set in the 4 Jewish Songs from 1941. Nos 2-4 comes from the collection Judiska dikter (1916), no 1 is yet unlocated.

Kalidasa's (possibly middle of fourth or beginning of fifth century, India) Sakuntala, a play in sanskrit, translated to Swedish by ?, was given music for radio theatre in 1931.

Erik Axel Karlfeldt's (1864-1931, Sweden) cycle of poems (in the collection Dalmålningar utlagda på rim, p1920) contributes to the ballet-pantomime The Last Judgement (Yttersta domen) from 1929.

Ku K'uang's poem En hovdikt (Från det höga jadegemaket) in translation by Erik Blomberg (1894-1965, Sweden) from the collection Jadeberget, kinesisk lyrik från Tangdynastin 618-906 (p1944), was set in 1951 as no 9 from 14 Chinese poems/songs.

Frida Landsort (?-?, Sweden) contributes with 4 poems to Flisor (Splinters) opus 9 from 1918; Vilken man! (Hör hans röst); Tänk! (Här går smaken utan snille); Spegeln (En ängel kommer dig nära); Underligt (När världen är proppfull). Possibly from 2 collections of poems in Libris 2002: Rytmer och rim [1905], Utanför hvirflen [1908].

Li-Po's poems En suck från en trappa av jade (Hennes jadevita trappa) and Gränslös längtan (Jag längtar gränslöst), both in translation by Erik Blomberg (1894-1965, Sweden) from the collection Jadeberget, kinesisk lyrik från Tangdynastin 618-906 (p1944), were set in 1950 as no 8 and 1951 as no 10 from 14 Chinese poems/songs.

Li P'in's poem På väg över Hanfloden (Långt borta från hemmet) in translation by Erik Blomberg (1894-1965, Sweden) from the collection Jadeberget, kinesisk lyrik från Tangdynastin 618-906 (p1944), was set in 1945 as no 4 from 14 Chinese poems/songs.

The woman of birth and the man of the people (Kvinnan av börd och mannen av folket) in Swedish translation by ?, got music for radio theatre in 1935.
The play The Sheep Spring (Fårakällan, 1618) translated to Swedish by Ivar Harrie 1944 got music for radio theatre in 1944.

Lu Lun's poem Gränssånger (Högt i det bleka) in translation by Erik Blomberg (1894-1965, Sweden) from the collection Jadeberget, kinesisk lyrik från Tangdynastin 618-906 (p1944), was set in 1948 as no 12 from 14 Chinese poems/songs.

Lasse Lucidor's (actually Lars Johansson, 1638-74, Sweden) poem Kärleksvisa was set 1953 in 3 Swedish Folksongs for mixed choir.

Mikael Lybeck's (1864-1925, Finland) poem Dödsfången (p1918) was set as a melodrama in 1919, but soon withdrawn.

Bertil Malmberg's (1889-1958, Sweden) play Porträttet (p1956 in "Svenska radiopjäser 1956") based on the short story (ca 1836-42, Portrait) by Nikolaj Gogol (1809-52, Russia) contributes to Rosenberg's opera from 1955 (four versions).

Thomas Mann's (1875-1955) Joseph-tetralogy, 1933-43: Jaakobs upplevelser (abridged Swedish translation by Bertil Malmberg 1935, complete translation by Nils Holmberg 1946, Die Geschichten Jaakobs/Joseph and his brothers), Den unge Josef (Swedish translation by Bertil Malmberg 1935, Der junge Joseph/Young Joseph), Josef i Egypten (Swedish translation by Bertil Malmberg 1939, Joseph in Ägypten/Joseph in Egypt), Josef försörjaren (Swedish translation by Nils Holmberg 1944, Joseph der Erährer/Joseph the Provider) contributes to Rosenberg's opera-oratorios on Joseph: Den brokiga klädnaden, Josef och Potifars hustru, Josef drömtydaren, Josef försörjaren, as well as the concert version Josef och hans bröder, composed 1945-51 (see 1946).

Poems (yet unlocated) by Harry Martinson (1904-78, Sweden) was set to music by HR in the 1954 Lyrisk svit, cantata to the inauguration of the University of Gothenburg 2/10 1954.

John Masefield (1878-1967, England)
The play The Faithful (1915), translated to Swedish as De trogna (1931) possibly by Anders Österling, was given theatre music twice by HR in 1930. He also started to compose an opera (possibly as late as 1962, but see 1930) based on the same play, but abandoned it after the first scene due to problems with Masefields agent.
The play Good Friday (1917, Långfredag) possibly translated to Swedish by Anders Österling (1931) got music for radio theatre in 1931.

Mêng Hao-jan's poems På besök hos en vän i hans lantgård (Medan du tillbeder) and En vårmorgon (Lätt om hjärtat), both in translation by Erik Blomberg (1894-1965, Sweden) from the collection Jadeberget, kinesisk lyrik från Tangdynastin 618-906 (p1944), were set in 1948 as no 11 and 14 from 14 Chinese poems/songs.

Alfred de Musset (1810-57, France)
The comedy Lek ej med kärleken (1834, Don't play with love) translated to Swedish by Hjalmar Söderberg and arranged for radio theatre by Hjalmar Gullberg (p1936) was given music for radio theatre in 1927.
The play Ljusstaken (1835, The Candlestick) by Alfred de Musset (1810-57, France) translated to Swedish by ?, was given theatre music in 1928..

Sean O'Casey's (1884-1964, Ireland) play Innanför grindarna (possibly Within the gates from 1933, translated to Swedish by Per Lindberg) got theatre music in 1935.

Eugene O'Neill's (1888-1953, USA) play The great God Brown (p1926, translated to Swedish by ? as Den store guden Brown) got theatre music in 1936. There's also a Divertimento from it.

André Obey's (1892-1975, France), play Noah (Noak, Noé, p1931), translated to Swedish by ?, got music for theatre in 1935.

Parts of Olaus Petri's (1493-1552, Sweden) Svensk krönika contributes to the oratorio Svensk lagsaga from 1942.

Romain Rolland's (1866-1944, France) novel in ten volumes Jean-Christophe, written 1905-13, translated to Swedish by Louise Åkerman 1913-18 was used by HR for recitation before movements in the original version of Symphony No 3, The four ages of man, composed 1939.

Romanus Melodus' (6th century, Byzantine saint) Christmas Hymn, translated to Swedish by Hjalmar Gullberg (1898-1961) and published in the newspaper Svenska Dagbladet 21/12 1941 was set to music by HR in 1941.

Viktor Rydberg's (1828-95, Sweden) Prometeus och Ahasverus from the collection of poems Dikter (1882) was set as a melodrama in 1941.

Jean-Paul Sartre's (1905-80, France) play Les mouches (1943, Flugorna) translated to Swedish by Eyvind Johnson, 1946 got music for theatre in 1945.

Poems by Sappho (Sapfo, 7th century BC, Greece) translated to Swedish by Emil Zilliacus (1878-1961, Finland/Sweden) is used in the Greek excursions from 1940.

Sten Selander's (1891-1957, Sweden) poem (yet unlocated) Skeppet (Mörkret famnar stränder, The Ship) was set for voice & piano 1918.

Sigfrid Siwertz's (1882-1970, Sverige) play Djami och vattenandarna (1945, Djami and the waterspirits) was given music for radio theatre in 1945.

William Shakespeare (1564-1616, England)
The play Twelfth Night (1599-1600, Trettondagsafton) probably in Swedish translation by Carl August Hagberg (1810-64) was given music for radio theatre in 1932.
The play The Merchant of Venice (1596-7), translated to Swedish (Köpmannen av Venedig) by Per Hallström (p1932) and earlier by Karl August Hagberg (1810-64) got theatre music in 1935. Ett litet stycke (Adagio funèbre, Nocturne) for cello/viola & string orchestra/organ/piano is related to the theatre music.
The play Richard III (1592-3) in Swedish translation probably by Karl August Hagberg (1810-64) got theatre music in 1947.

Sophocles (Sofokles, ca 497bc - 406bc, Greece)
The play King Oidipus was given theatre music by HR in 1926 and revised for the radio theatre in 1941. At least the 1926 production used a special translation by Ernst Kjellberg. In 1951 he wrote new theatre music. A translation probably by Emil Zilliacus (1878-1961) p1945 got radio theatre music in 1945.
The play Antigone in Swedish translation by Hjalmar Gullberg got music for radio theatre in 1934.
The play Philoktetes in Swedish translation by Emil Zilliacus (1878-1961), p1947 was given music for radio theatre in 1947.
The play Ajax (Aias) in Swedish translation by Emil Zilliacus (1878-1961), 1951 got music for radio theatre in 1950.

Parts of Georg Stiernhielm's (1598-1672, Sweden) poem Herkules contributes to the oratorio Svensk lagsaga from 1942.

August Strindberg (1849-1912, Sweden)
Kaspers fettisdag (p1901, Punch's Shrove Tuesday, Le Mardi-gras de Polichinelle) and some of his poems contributes to the chamber opera from 1953.
Stora landsvägen (The great highway, La grand-route), a play from 1909 was given radio theatre music in 1933. In 1965 he arranged 5 Pieces for piano & string orchestra from it.
Hellas, the play from 1903 got theatre music 1942 in a collaboration between HR and Karl-Birger Blomdahl.

Swedish psalm number 11 (Lover Gud i himmelshöjd) and poems by Hjalmar Gullberg (1898-1961, Sweden) was used in the cantata Hymnus, from 1965.

A paraphrase of Esaias Tegnér's (1782-1846, Sweden) "jubelfesttal 1817" and unidentified texts by Hjalmar Gullberg (1898-1961, Sweden) were used in Hymn till ett universitet, a cantata from 1968.

Giorgos Theotokas' (1905-66, Greece) play Bron vid Arta (?, The Bridge at Arta) was given music for theatre in 1945. Anyone who knows when the play was written or who translated it?

Parts of bishop Tomas' (?-1443, Sweden) poem Frihetsvisa (a part of the larger poem Engelbrektsvisan) contributes to the oratorio Svensk lagsaga from 1942.

Wang Wei's poem I bambusnåret (Tillbakalutad) in translation by Erik Blomberg (1894-1965, Sweden) from the collection Jadeberget, kinesisk lyrik från Tangdynastin 618-906 (p1944) was set in 1945 as no 2 from 14 Chinese poems/songs.

William Butler Yeats' (1865-1939, Ireland) play The land of heart's desire (1894, Längtans land) translated to Swedish by Karl Asplund (1890-1978) 1924 got music for theatre in 1927.

Parts of Lars Wivallius' (1605-69, Sweden) poem Vårvisa contributes to the oratorio Svensk lagsaga from 1942.
